Meet Baron Von Peanut. He is doll!! When he came to us he was very insecure but with positive reinforcement we have had no issues. I treat all dogs as if they weigh 80 pounds. So a slight growl from an 8 pounder is not appropriate. I also make the drag the leash until adjusted. Takes them down just a notch. So you have to understand he will not respond to any sort of harsh words or discipline. You have to be a positive leader. His other negative is...he doesn't necessarily like car rides. We are working on it...and you will need to continue to work on it to. He tolerates other dogs.....but he truly prefers people. He runs after our 12 year old and loves the attention he gets. He bonds strongly to men. I think he is a perfect doggy. He just needs someone to love his 80 pound personality in his little 8 pound body. He is a fun and loving boy and likes to sleep with you at night. He is shy with the camera but quite the looker!!! i! My name is Tinkerbell. My previous owner gave me to the shelter in Bloomington, but I was really unhappy there. I also had flea-bite dermatitis. I was really itchy and the hair on my backside and tail got really thin. When I don't feel good or I am nervous and scared, I can be a little grumpy and nippy, so the shelter folks didn't think I'd be a good dog to adopt and that I would do better in a rescue. So the Chihuahua Rescue folks came to get me. They put me in a real home with lots of other dogs. They gave me time and space to get used to things, and it turns out that I'm a really nice girl! I love the people though! I especially love to sit in the chair with them. I'm a little bit overweight, but a measured amount of good food and lots of exercise will fix me right up! Everybody was nice to me, but my family never came to find me. So the ladies from Chihuahua Rescue came and got me. I went to a house where I have a fur brother and 4 fur sisters. Barney is BOSS! He's a terrific guy and he wants to make sure everyone knows it. Barney came to rescue with known issues of being fearful, coupled with being timid and hiding. So, lots of work has been undertaken by his terrific foster mom towards socializing Barney towards pets, people, and training to make him a wonderful canine companion. He loves to play fetch for as long as you will play with him! Barney knows some tricks and loves to be with 'his' person. He can also be protective of his person and his crate/kennel.
